Room 9 (2021) Survival Lesson

Room 9 movie poster with a centered room 9 door dripping blood surrounded by a collage of characters from the movie.Survival Lesson: Everyone keeps receipts. Don't expect anything will ever be completely forgotten.

Synopsis: Dude builds a murder bench to murder people who killed his parents.

Rating: 1/10: This really isn't a movie. The first part of the movie consists of a film-student discovering effects and filters for the first time and then assaulting you with it, followed by a part that was more music video than movie. This takes up about 13 minutes or so before the actual 'movie' starts, which consists of various murder skits that are dull and will make no sense. Finally in the end the viewer gets the explanation delivered through a very lengthy exposition. Apparently the movie makers have never heard the phrase, "show don't tell." The effects and filters and grating sound bits continue throughout the movie and make it mostly unwatchable. It is unpleasant kind of like someone shining a flashlight in your eyes that you just want to stop. Unfortunately, the parts of the movie that tried to be a movie were filled with unbelievably bad dialog. Overall acting was poor. Such a waste of some decent talent. Sets were uninspiring, and there wasn't even any decent gore. I want to give it a point because there were actually a few moment that suggested someone had some talent for setting up shots, but overall, it was just so bad...I can't.
